KRYSTAL RIVVERS

SHARE CANDID NEW SINGLE ‘lover’

Eora/Sydney-based outfit KRYSTAL RIVVERS have just unveiled their latest single ‘Lover — produced by Jack Moffitt (The Preatures) and engineered/mixed by Reyne House (Dope Lemon, The Delta Riggs).

Recorded between Bondi Beach, Westway Studios and Church Street Studios, the track was written by Earl Weir (vocals) and features performances from Polly Cooper (Hatchling), Michael Tramonte (The Delta Riggs), Beaker Best and Freddy Crabs (Sticky Fingers), with Jack Moffitt also contributing guitar.

KR’s new single ‘Lover’ strips things back to the essentials — a clear vocal, steady rhythm, and lyrics that sit somewhere between confession and observation. The track circles around desire that never quite finds its footing, and the way fleeting connections can leave a mark without ever turning into something lasting.

“We were lovers when I saw you, lovers when we were high… lovers just to pass the time.” The refrain sums up the song’s perspective: candid, unsentimental, but recognisable to anyone who’s been caught in that space where timing doesn’t line up.

Musically, ‘Lover’ doesn’t chase big production. It leans into groove and simplicity, giving KR’s delivery room to breathe. The focus stays on the story, the lines, and the understated way they land.

To celebrate the release of 'Lover', KRYSTAL RIVVERS will play two special shows at The Northern Hotel in Bundjalung/Byron Bay and Pleasure Club in Eora/Sydney. This follows on from a standout run over the past 12 months, selling out multiple hometown headline shows (300 capacity), an appearance at Lost Paradise (2024) and support slots with Kingswood, The Delta Riggs, Sloan Peterson, and These New South Whales. Lead singer, Earl Weir, has also performed at the Auntie RUBY HUNTER tribute show with Dan SultanKeeahn and many more First Nation artists.

Previous single ‘Prisoner’ (August) received strong national support, hitting #1 on the AMRAP Metro Chart, securing playlist adds across Spotify and Apple Music, and earning high rotation on 2SER, 4ZZZ and Koori Radio, where KRYSTAL RIVVERS was also featured as Artist of the Week.

Previous single 'Sienna' saw strong support from Spotify, Apple Music, Triple j, Triple j Unearthed, Backseat Mafia and Australian community radio. KR draws inspiration from luminaries such as The War On Drugs, Fontaines D.C., and Wolf Alice to craft story-driven rock 'n' roll that envelops the listener in warm instrumentation and contemplative soundscapes.

Outside of KR, Earl is also a host of a First Nations radio program and serves on the First Nations advisory committee for Waverley, working on cultural projects, recognition, and community initiatives. He also runs a mental health surfing comp called Mullet PRO. Earl adds, "I'm passionate about my Aboriginal culture and speaking out against racism, so I feel fortunate to be able to do the work I do. I started Mullet PRO due to losing my best friend 10 years ago; mental health is an issue that's very close to my heart."
