“The World Is on Our Shoulders” is the defiant closing statement of Krystal Rivvers’ second EP - a protest song that cuts straight through the noise of political corruption, corporate greed, and the human cost of control.
Penned by frontman Earl Weir, the track channels generations of truth-telling. Weir’s Aboriginal heritage brings a lived understanding of colonisation, attempted genocide, and systemic oppression - themes that ripple through every line. His writing stretches beyond Australia’s borders, reflecting on lives lost to war, from the continuing trauma in Aboriginal history to the devastation in Palestine, and the manipulation of public narratives that conceal power and profit.
Delivered with a deliberate punk ferocity, “The World Is on Our Shoulders” is both a personal reckoning and a collective call to awareness. Recorded alongside Weir’s long-time collaborators Jack Moffitt (The Preatures) and Mel Bailey (LAHGO), the track amplifies its message through powerful lyrical energy and raw, unapologetic instrumentation. The rhythm section drives hard with Beaker Best (Sticky Fingers) on drums and Michael Tramonte(The Delta Riggs) on bass, captured and engineered by Reyne House.
Krystal Rivvers continues to carve their own lane, merging truth, rage, and beauty into a sound that refuses to look away. “The World Is on Our Shoulders” is a reminder that resistance is still alive, and music remains one of its loudest voices.
